Every year we go through the planning stages for the next year. We try to use it as a guide to drive our business. However, there are times when circumstances and opportunity lead us off the path. And to survive in today’s world, we must be willing to deviate from the plan when a good idea arises. What we don’t want to deviate from is our core principles; those driving forces that have made us successful.
For me, it has always been when an opportunity presents itself, take it. Take it will full force, don’t just stick a toe in the water – but really try to move the needle. That is truly abnormal behavior. It is not normal for people to break from that which would produce a certain degree of comfort and security in favor of the risky and unknown. It is a bold step. But the old saying goes, “fortune favors the bold.”
It is a fine line we walk between risk and security, between the known and the unknown. But those that are willing to take advantage of the opportunities that are in front of us, usually come out better off while those that sit, wait and ponder are mostly left scratching their heads and how someone else took advantage of an opportunity.
Make your plans, but be ready to shift if the opportunity presents itself. Not sure how to do this? Call us. Reach out to our Sales Manager – Connie Hayes at 806-748-2404 or call me directly at 806-748-2405. We can sit down with you and talk about how to have a solid plan and what other opportunities exist which you could take advantage of immediately.
