Last week I was asked a great question: Who are the 5 people you need to have 3 face to face interactions with over the next 30 days to improve your business? I thought it was a brilliant question. The other point this person made to me was this: are we training our people for success or are we training them on the minimum standard of performance? Many times we tell people what the minimum is that we need to the happy with them and low and behold that is all we get back, the minimum. He suggested that we train them to visualize the maximum – and the converse might also be true.
He went on to tell me that we have all made business mistakes – and some we keep repeating. A mistake we keep repeating is called a choice. We have a choice to be better or maintain the status quo. If we want to be better we need to push the envelope and push our business messages, consistently over time to the best possible business prospects.
