What is better, the perfect game plan never executed or a good game plan well executed?
Many people suffer from this affliction. They want to keep tinkering with a plan to make it perfect, rather than put it in motion. Therefore, they hesitate. If time was not a factor, this would not be an issue. But the world is not perfect and time is always a factor.
Because time is a factor, hesitation or procrastination works against us in the business world. When there is opportunity, the company that acts upon or is first in, usually gives itself a major competitive advantage over its nearest competitor. One company will jump out to a big lead while the other company is playing catch up from the beginning. Catch up tends to cost more and cause you to work harder.
The world is a competitive place. We will always have competitors nipping at our heels. The other thing that is a certainty is our customers are always in motion. Some need our good and services today, some need them tomorrow. Without a consistent game plan or marketing strategy we will lose our competitive edge in our product category. Step forward and take that first position. Don’t let someone else beat you to it because you were busy coming up with the absolute perfect plan.
